Obtaining a residence permit in this way good option, bearing in mind that it is much cheaper for foreign citizens than obtaining a residence permit based on the purchase of real estate, for example.
First step Company registration
In order to apply for a Residence Permit, you must first register your company in the Register of Business Entities. The advantage of LLC registration is that the company is liable for its obligations with its assets, while with an entrepreneur, the entrepreneur himself is liable unlimitedly with his assets for the obligations of the entrepreneur.
When registering an LLC, it is necessary for the founder or founders, to certify the founding act at a public notary in the presence of an authorized court translator, while the entrepreneur is not required to certify the founding act, but only on the basis of the passport, the entrepreneur is registered. We emphasize that we can register an LLC in Serbia on the basis of a special power of attorney that you will legalize in your country (under the legalization of the power of attorney, by default, you must notarize it and then put an apostille stamp on it).
From legal forms, we suggest either LLC or entrepreneur.
Necessary documentation for LLC registration:
- Notarized founding act of the company – the founder can notarize the founding deed personally in Serbia or he can notarize a power of attorney in his country authorizing a lawyer to sign and notarize the founding deed in Serbia,
- Scanned passport of the founder
- Payment of the company registration fee
- Application for company registration
- Confirmation of the bank on the payment of the founding capital
- Power of attorney for submitting the application
Necessary documentation for Entrepreneur registration:
- Scanned passport of the founder
- Application for Entrepreneur registration
- Power of attorney for submitting the application
- Payment of the company registration fee
The company is registered within 5 working days from the day when all the documentation necessary for registration is submitted.
Secound step Residence Permit
Temporary residence is a residence permit of a foreign citizen in the Republic of Serbia and can be granted to a foreigner who intends to reside in the Republic of Serbia.
The request for a residence permit can be submitted in person or electronically.
In the case when the request for residence permit is submitted in person, it is necessary that you first receive a appointment from the government, to which you will come with all the necessary documentation. When you submit all the documentation, you will receive a confirmation of this. When submitting the documentation, you will be given a deadline of usually 30 days, when you will come again and when you will have a temporary residence sticker stamped in your passport (we emphasize that there is a possibility that you will be heard on that day in order to carry out all the details related to the request for a residence permit). If your documentation is incomplete or another document is missing, you will be ordered to submit it within 8 days.
A residence permit is granted for a period of 3 months to 12 months (to 1 year) and is extended every year.
Necessary documentation in order to obtain a Residence Permit:
- Extract from the company register, on the basis of which it is proved that you are the owner of the company in the Republic of Serbia (the fee for obtaining this document is RSD 1,700),
- White Card (A residence permit can only be applied for on the basis of a white card issued for a foreign citizen in police station by the owner of the apartment where the foreign citizen resides. We emphasize that the white card that you receive at the hotel is not usable for obtaining a residence permit.,
- Statement of the owner of the apartment – with this statement, the owner of the property you leased in Belgrade confirms that you live at the address in Serbia. Instead of renting real estate in Belgrade or Serbia, we will help you provide this service on a monthly basis, which is much cheaper than renting real estate.
